Human Resources

Riverview Home Corporation employs more than two hundred people. Resident Services is the largest department and includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Resident Counselors and Support Planners. This department provides direct care to residents.

All staff are trained in seven Core Competencies. These competencies allow the staff to provide safe and appropriate support to the residents who make Riverview their home, whether in the adult residential centre or one of our community homes.

All applicants must have Grade Twelve and possess a valid drivers license. The Human Service course from the Community College is the preferred level of education for the position of Resident Counselor.

Successful applicants are generally hired on a casual basis initially and are given a thorough orientation prior to working independently. There is a probationary period which allows time to ensure there is a fit for both the candidate and the Corporation. Employee benefits include a pension plan, health and dental plans and Employee Assistance Program.
