Thomas Lane is an 8-bed group home, with 7 permanent resident beds and 1 respite bed. The current ages of the residents living in Thomas Lane are 33 to 65.
We are wheelchair accessible, and our residents are active in the community. Weather permitting Thomas Lane residents frequently use the walking trails in the community and attend public events such as the weekly Farmers Market, swimming at the wellness center, and Live Music every Tuesday evening at the house. Our residents can attend parades and community events, such as car shows, wresting events , picnics, beach days, and go sightseeing.
Our residents are encouraged to express their wants and wishes for all activities. Seasonal day trips are planned for our residents to experience adventures outside our community such as Glow Halifax & Moncton Zoo etc.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle our residents are encouraged to participate in different activities to keep them active. Depending on their likes and abilities we plan lifestyle activities around the resident’s routines and work hours at Summer Street Industries, The Green Team, and River Run Café.
Thomas Lane is equipped with snowshoes, cross county skis, and sleds for winter activities at the house, and for Summer Activities we have a basketball net, washer toss game, bean bag game, tennis rackets, and 3-wheeled bicycles to ride.
We are also equipped with a projector and a screen to watch movies outside on the deck or in our rec room in the basement.
We have a gazebo on our back deck, which the residents enjoy spending time relaxing, enjoying a barbeque, or watching wildlife in the yard.
Thomas Lane has cable in all rooms and internet access as well. It would be our pleasure to have you come and visit us at Thomas Lane.
